Peptide & Pharmaceutical Cleanrooms
Modular room planning for ISO cleanroom targets, GMP processing workflows and projects with hazardous-location requirements.
ISO Cleanrooms for Your Next Process
Planning a peptide cleanroom, pharmaceutical cleanroom or GMP processing area? Podtronix works with your project team to define the modular room envelope and coordinate the requirements for an ISO 7 or ISO 8 target environment.
Discuss GMP and EU GMP requirements early. Room finishes, HVAC and filtration, personnel and material movement, cleaning access and qualification all affect the final design.

ISO 7, ISO 8, GMP & EU GMP
These terms describe different parts of a controlled manufacturing environment. Define the target for your process before selecting the room configuration.
ISO 7 Cleanroom
An airborne particle cleanliness classification under ISO 14644-1. Specify the particle sizes, room operating state and testing scope with your cleanroom team. Filtration, airflow, occupancy and process equipment all contribute to the result.
ISO 8 Cleanroom
Another ISO 14644-1 particle cleanliness classification. Select the class based on the process and product requirements, then coordinate the room envelope with HVAC, filtration and the qualification plan.
GMP Processing
Good Manufacturing Practice extends beyond the room itself. A facility plan should account for cleanable surfaces, equipment access, material flow, operating procedures, documentation and validation responsibilities.
EU GMP Planning
Projects serving regulated European markets should define their applicable EU GMP requirements with their quality team. For sterile products, Annex 1 adds requirements that cannot be established by an ISO room class alone.
Podtronix supports room planning around the specified requirements. Classification, commissioning, qualification and regulatory compliance depend on the complete installed system and the operator’s processes; they are not blanket certifications of every enclosure.
C1D1 Cleanroom & C1D2 Cleanroom Requirements
Where a peptide or pharmaceutical process uses flammable materials, hazardous-location requirements and cleanroom requirements must be considered together. Discuss solvent handling, exhaust, makeup air, filtration, pressure relationships, electrical equipment and personnel access with the project team.

What to Know Before You Build
What should I specify for a peptide cleanroom?
Start with the process, intended product use, required cleanliness classification, equipment list, personnel flow and cleaning approach. Define whether any stage uses flammable materials and identify the validation and documentation responsibilities before engineering begins.
Does an ISO 7 or ISO 8 room automatically meet GMP?
No. ISO classification describes airborne particle cleanliness. GMP also involves facilities, equipment, personnel, procedures, documentation, validation and ongoing quality controls. An ISO classification alone does not establish GMP or EU GMP compliance.
Can a cleanroom also have C1D1 or C1D2 requirements?
A cleanroom project may also need a hazardous-location classification where flammable gases or vapors are involved. Cleanliness, pressure relationships, ventilation and classified electrical requirements must be coordinated and verified for the complete application.
